Glucosamine Sulfate belongs to a class of compound called amino sugars. It is the starting point for the synthesis of tissues including basement membranes (ligaments, tendons and cartalige) and the structures that surround blood vessels. A deficiency of Glucosamine Sulfate can reduce the rate of production of Proteoglycans (PG) and Glycoproteins (GP), thereby leading to a specific tissue weakness.
Glucosamine Sulfate is one of the biological chemicals that forms Hyaluronic Acid, a major cushioning ingredient of the joint fluids and surrounding tissues. Glucosamine Sulfate has been shown to exert a protective effect against joint destruction and is selectively used by joint tissues, exerting a powerful healing effect on arthritic symptoms. Glucosamine Sulfate also play a role in the formation of nails, tendons, skin, eyes, bones, ligaments, heart valves, and in the mucous secretions of the digestive, respiratory and urinary tracts. Glucosamine Sulfate is virtually free of side effects and there are no known contraindications to its use. |
