Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium are two organisms that inhabit different regions of the human intestine under normal conditions. In the upper intestine, L. acidophilus predominates and in the lower intestine Bifidobacteria is the major strain. Both organisms have an important symbiotic role, maintaining a mutually beneficial balance for the human host. These bacteria produce lactic acid and other beneficial biofactors. Additionally Lactobacilli attach to the intestinal wall and form a layer which can competitively block the attatchment of other undesirable organisms.

Ingredients Five billion organisms of Lactobacillus acidophilus (INT 9 strain), Bifidobacterium bifidus & Lactobacillus brevis in a vegetable oligosaccharide base.
